The New Corporate Dress Code
How the dress code has changed since the start of the pandemic.
Since the start of the pandemic a lot has changed including the way that we dress for work, a new dilemma that we are all facing whether we are returning to the office or continuing to work remotely. After more than 2 years of living in sweatpants, the thought of going out and getting dressed up takes a lot of thought.
So what is the dress code? Business casual, smart casual, casual, or formal?
Well, for most of us our outlook and what we value as important has changed, and therefore the impression that we want to give off will have changed too.
So the answer depends on whether you still want to climb to the top of your career ladder, have a career change or take things a bit slower and enjoy a more holistic lifestyle.
We don’t need to follow a prescribed dress code but one which suits our needs. Stylish comfort is the way to go instead of sweatpants, opting for more clean lines, silhouettes, and different fabrics that let people know you are still showing up for work but equally don't restrict you when taking time out during your day to work on your wellbeing.
Being grounded for 2 years due to restrictions can also affect a person’s confidence so wearing clothes that make you feel good goes a long way at getting your confidence back and feeling ready to start the new normal.
Practicality, versatility, comfort, and style go hand in hand in this new era.
